Comments: Reiki Exchanges are opportunities to practice giving – and receiving! – Reiki. Working in small groups, all participants take a turn on the Reiki table. You may have several people working on you at one time, so even 15 minutes can make a difference! (ie. 4 people on 1 for 15 minutes would be equivalent to receiving an hour treatment!) If you are not initiated into Reiki you can still participate – in fact, it is a great way to experience what Reiki is about! A donation to the Centre is appreciated though not necessary.

Reiki Pilgrimmage to Japan: October 17-28, 2012

Join Reiki Masters Jen Lundin Ritchie and Mari Okazaki on a once-in-a-lifetime 12-day trip to the roots of Reiki, and walk in the footsteps of Dr. Usui!

Take a Jikiden Reiki Level 1 and 2 course from Japanese Master Tadao Yamaguchi (Lineage: Usui, Hayashi, Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi), who has replicated the courses taught by Chujiro Hayashi. On this tour, we will also be visiting many sites of interest to Reiki Practitioners. In Tokyo, we will be visiting the Usui Memorial and the Meiji Emperor's Shrine. In Kyoto, our tour will include Sanjusangendo (the temple of the 1001 Kannon, a.k.a. Kuan Yin Goddess of Compassion, who is important to Jikiden Reiki practitioners) and the Chionin Temple (related to the Amida Buddha, a.k.a. The Buddha of Infinite Light). A day trip to Nara will include a visit to Yakushi-ji (temple of Yakushi Nyorai a.k.a. the Medicine Buddha or Buddha of Healing) and the Great Eastern Temple, with its spectacular large structures and "bowing" deer. Of course, no Reiki pilgrimage is complete without a special guided tour of Mt. Kurama, where Usui did his famous 21-day meditation. We will also take in the spectacular annual Kurama Fire Festival and visit a traditional Japanese Onsen (natural hot springs) on Mt. Kurama. There will also be plenty of free time for shopping, resting, and exploring the city on your own.

This unforgettable journey will truly bring the history of Reiki alive and is sure to live in your heart forever.

Oct 20 (Sat) sightseeing in Tokyo and bullet train to Kyoto

Oct 23-25 (Tue-Thurs) Jikiden Reiki seminar, including a special traditional dinner and Geisha performance
Oct 26 (Fri) sightseeing in Kyoto
Oct 27 sightseeing in Nara
Oct 28 (Sun) Fly Kytot (Itami)-Narita-Vancouver (arrive home same day)

The cost is $5400 per person (tax incl), which includes shared accommodations, most meals, all venue admissions, all ground transportation in Japan, and airfare to/from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Reiki Retreat on Saltspring Island: June 30-July 3, 2011

You are invited to attend a Reiki retreat at the Kunzang Dechen Osel Ling Buddhist Retreat Centre on beautiful Saltspring Island. Besides giving and receiving Reiki, we will share stories, Reiki experiences, and have time to get to know others in our Reiki community. Special invited guests Anneli Twan (who studied with Mrs. Takata) and Don Beacham will also share their wisdom and Reiki experiences.

The retreat is open to all lineages and all levels of Reiki (first, second, and Master degrees). There will also be some dedicated time for people to break into groups focusing on topics related to their level.

Retreat Fee: $225. Includes vegetarian meals, accomodations, transportation to/from the ferry, and the Reiki program.
